EDUCATION

Light in the World Development Foundation built the Ndo Kope School in 2015 which offers education and resources to 150 children. The Togolese government acts as the administrators of the school, but LWDF has provided salaries for teachers and supplies, such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and joyful things like balls for physical education and play time (after all, every child deserves to play). Our contract with the government to supply the salaries runs out this year, but the school is now rooted into the community.
On a slightly selfish note, what if those children came back to work for our hospital? No longer would it be outsiders coming in and providing the care they need. Eventually, the community would be self-sufficient for its healthcare. What a sense of pride! What an accomplishment that would be! What a place of inspiration to be able to continue doing this in other communities throughout Togo and further throughout Africa! Dream big! Why not? Anything is possible when you have a chance at a good education!
What LWDF Has Accomplished

Your Role
Even if you’re not called to go and teach in Africa, you can still make a difference. When you pick up school supplies for your children this year, think about how the children over in Togo could use some of these supplies. Pick up a few boxes of pens or some notebooks or any other school supply. Or what about a soccer ball? No gift is too small. To know someone you have never met wants you to succeed and have the best life possible. How wonderful that would be!

Light in the World Development Foundation has been involved in a number of on going projects in Togo. Light in the World Development Foundation has provided school supplies for more than 500 children each year since 2011 in TOGO ( West Africa) in order to allow children from poor families to go to school.
